No appointment needed to speak to one of our staff about an enquiry or purchase, simply visit us at our traditional jewellers store. Unlike most chain stores, we prefer a traditional taste of interior, making you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, we hope you enjoy the experience as much as we do.

SELLING TO US
At Kemps, we love purchasing any items you may have hidden away at home. We purchase gold, no matter what the condition is, or size, so have no shame in bringing in what you have to offer. A big part of our store is second hand jewellery, so please bring in jewellery that you no longer wear, giving it a new lease of life and love to someone else, creating a more sustainable environment, as well as helping you in getting that extra cash. We may surprise you in the offering we have!
If you are keen to sell with us, but live a distance away, then please do not hesitate to contact us via email with descriptions and clear pictures of the item(s), so that we can begin the process with you.
1. Where is the store?
In the heart of Bristol, England. Just on union street, the same street we’ve been on for over 100 years!
2. Where do you source your jewellery?
We source our new jewellery from trusted partners, using only the finest quality of diamonds, our quality matches with stores on Bond street. Our second hand department is sourced from our customers, who we have formed great friendships with.
3. What condition are your pre owned items in?
We send all second hand items off to our workshop, where they are restored back to their original selves, looking shiny and new when worn.
4. How often do you get new jewellery in?
With our second hand jewellery, we get new items in weekly! Just check our website or visit us in store to see what exciting items we have available.
5. Can you source specific items for me?
If you have a specific requirement, such as a particular cut diamond with a certain setting, then of course, we can help you on your journey to figuring out exactly what you desire. Its what we do best.
6. Do you purchase jewellery?
Of course! Majority of our pre owned items our on a sale or return basis.
7. What warranty do you offer with jewellery and watches?
We have a 1 year guarantee with every item bought in our store.
8. Can you order from your site?
You can, but we currently only offer a click and collect policy. We value our jewellery and our customers needs, making a face to face purchase more appropriate, so we know you can walk away from us 100% satisfied.
9. Do you do repairs?
We love repairs, we have some of the best workshops around that we’ve built our relationships with over many years. No job is too big or small for us, please bring in any item to you wish to enquire about, or you can phone us for more information, or you can email us with pictures and information if that’s easier for you.
10. Do you take repairs online?
We do not take repairs through our website, however if you have a repair that you are unsure about, then please do email us with descriptions and imagery of the work that needs doing, as we will gladly help you with any information we can provide.
11. How long do repairs take?
It completely depends on the job itself, we typically quote 2 weeks on average, however we can give you a secure date once we understand the job. If it is an urgent job with a short timescale, then please visit us in store and we will help you anyway we can.
12. Can you supply valuations for insurance purposes?
We certainly can, we offer a fair price of £75 for the first item, then £45 for any item after, so best to do valuations in bundles!
13. Do you buy scrap gold?
Yes, please visit us in store with any gold you have.
14. Do you offer cash in hand for jewellery?
We do occasionally, however we typically offer a sale or return basis, Our staff will agree with you a price that you will receive once we have sold the item for you. You can collect the item at any item if you change your mind on selling it, it will always be your property up until the point of sale. We have no hidden agenda with extra costs or lowering the agreed price, once we give you a number that is the final figure.
15. Do you offer servicing of watches?
Yes we do, We typically quote £200-£300, as a rough estimate but it completely depends on the watch and if any parts are require, please email us or call for more information.
16. Do you offer free jewellery cleaning services?
Yes, we are happy to clean any jewellery you bring into our store, free of charge. We also have a polishing facility in our store, please ask in store for details.
17. Do you offer ring re-sizing?
We do indeed, if you are needing to go up 1 or 2 sizes then we can do that for you in store, however if you need to drastically go down or up in size, then we would need to send it off to our workshop. Please visit us in store, or contact us for further details.
18. Can you assist me with a repair on clocks at home?
We typically do not do call outs to our customers homes, however if there is an urgent issue with a clock that is difficult to move, then please contact us and we will see what our team can do.
19. Do you offer bespoke ring services?
Yes! We love bespoke ring jobs, our speciality is our CAD cam services, helping you in re-creating a ring you may have lost or simply starting up a whole new wonderful creation. Please ask in store or contact us to begin the journey.
